My friend Nic started the band Northeast & the Beat. To promote shows he wanted a poster he could write dates and locations on. The poster also needed to visually communicate the emotion of the band's music.

Nic and I shared ideas by posting notes and images online using drop.io, have a look at the process here: http://drop.io/neandthebeat

Using the excess business cards from previous versions, I created this spaceman mosaic for display in the space150 New York office. This mosaic shows the evolution of the space150 brand using at least one business cards from every version from one to twentyone.

Some packages and logos are tired and outdated, or they just do not communicate their desired message effectively. The rules for this Graphic Design 2 project were to re-design and improve a product brand and packaging. Out of the selectable few, I chose D-Con Ready Made Bait-Bits. Through the process, I decided that the product logo should represent the purpose of the product: kill vermin! I researched predators of mice and came up with the talon logo above.

Traveled Ground, a local band from Waconia, MN, approached me to design the packaging for their next album: “From the Rafters.” The band provided me with the photography and requested I use the 5" sleeve template. I was allowed freedom of imagery placement and type treatment for the album title and track listing. Using a combination of serif and script typefaces and embellishments, I created a composition and style to communicate visually the American Roots style of Traveled Ground.

This album is available for purchase at local cafes, Traveled Ground performances, and The Electric Fetus.

Distort the alphabet printed from the Vandercook Press using mineral spirits along with any other tool found in the printshop. From this alphabet make a display face for a headline of a product or article. My product: an MRE style bread endorsed by the HBO mini series Band of Brothers.

Above is the distorted wood type, and below that, the package with die lines to be printed on a brown cardboard-like surface.
