Some packages and logos are tired and outdated, or they just do not communicate their desired message effectively. The rules for this Graphic Design 2 project were to re-design and improve a product brand and packaging. Out of the selectable few, I chose D-Con Ready Made Bait-Bits. Through the process, I decided that the product logo should represent the purpose of the product: kill vermin! I researched predators of mice and came up with the talon logo above.

Distort the alphabet printed from the Vandercook Press using mineral spirits along with any other tool found in the printshop. From this alphabet make a display face for a headline of a product or article. My product: an MRE style bread endorsed by the HBO mini series Band of Brothers.

Above is the distorted wood type, and below that, the package with die lines to be printed on a brown cardboard-like surface.

Pick an animal, plant, or object as a mascot for a fictitious brand, and create a logo mark identity for that brand. My choosing was a deer, well any antlered animal. Through the long, intense, and exciting design process (see below), I arrived at the above solution. The company title: Reign specializing in snowboards and snowboard apparel. The final step was to apply our logo to it's appropriate environment through the magic of Photoshop.
